NASCAR Phoenix 500 spring –

Traveling by car

Located just southwest of downtown Phoenix, Phoenix Raceway rises out of the desert near Avondale and stands as one of NASCAR’s signature destinations. With sunny weather, open desert scenery, and a packed race-weekend schedule, a visit here can easily become more than just a day at the track.

Due to the large crowds expected on race weekend, fans are advised to plan ahead and arrive early. If you hold a parking pass, be sure to review the instructions printed on the back, as designated entry routes may differ from general parking access. Police officers and parking staff will be stationed throughout the area to help direct traffic and keep vehicles moving.

Directions

  • From Downtown Phoenix: Take I-10 West toward Avondale. Exit at Exit 128 (Litchfield Road), turn left (south), and follow event signage to Phoenix Raceway.
  • From the East Valley (Mesa / Tempe / Chandler): Travel west on Loop 202 and merge onto I-10 West. Take Exit 128 (Litchfield Road) and head south, following signs to the Speedway.
  • From the West Valley (Glendale / Peoria): Use Loop 101 South to connect with I-10 West. Exit at Litchfield Road (Exit 128) and follow posted directions to the track.
  • From Tucson and Southern Arizona: Drive north on I-10 toward Phoenix, then continue west past the city and take Exit 128 (Litchfield Road), heading south to the Raceway.
  • From Northern Arizona (Flagstaff / Prescott): Take I-17 South to Phoenix, merge onto I-10 West, and exit at Litchfield Road (Exit 128).

Extra tips

  • Expect heavier traffic as you approach the Speedway, particularly before major sessions.
  • Always follow directions from law enforcement and parking personnel
  • Parking areas are clearly signed—watch for the correct lot designation
  • Tailgating is permitted in most parking areas, though open flames may be restricted
  • Do not park along public roads or in nearby shopping areas, as unauthorised vehicles may be towed
