Here are some practical tips to help you stay comfortable, prepared, and ready to enjoy every minute of race weekend at Phoenix Raceway.
Food and drink
A wide variety of food is available around the speedway, with concession stands offering classic options such as burgers, hot dogs, and nachos. On race weekends, you’ll also find independent vendors serving items like pizza, barbecue, and other snacks. Coffee, soft drinks, beer, and bottled water are easy to find throughout the venue.
Bringing your own food
Each guest is allowed to bring one small food item, such as a sandwich, fruit, crackers, or chips, as long as it is packed in a clear bag. Large or family-sized portions are not permitted. You may also bring one sealed, non-alcoholic beverage. For full details, always check the Rules for Visitors section before you arrive.
Staying connected
Before leaving for the track, download or save important items on your phone, including tickets, parking information, and the event schedule. Mobile networks can become slow or unreliable on race day due to the high number of fans. If you’re attending with friends or family, agree on a meeting point and a backup plan in case you get separated.
Noise levels
Phoenix Raceway’s 1-mile dogleg oval produces loud, high-speed racing, and the sound can be amplified in the grandstands. When Cup Series cars are at full throttle, noise levels are very high. Earplugs are strongly recommended for all fans, and proper hearing protection is essential for children.
Taxi and rideshare services
If you are using a taxi or rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft, plan to use Entry E, which is designated for drop-offs and pick-ups. This is the most convenient location for rideshare access in and out of the venue.
Weather in March
March is one of the best months to visit Phoenix, with generally mild and comfortable conditions:
Rain is uncommon, and humidity is low, making race days pleasant. However, evenings can cool down quickly, so a light jacket or hoodie is a good idea. A thin poncho can also be useful, just in case of a brief shower. Remember to drink plenty of water during the day, use sunscreen, and consider wearing a hat and sunglasses to stay comfortable under the Arizona sun.
